Domi & JD Beck are artists from France, and their music is very cool. For me, their songs embody the essence of Montreal. For the record design assignment, our teacher encouraged us to enjoy the process and have creative freedom, so I took on the challenge of deviating significantly from my previous designs.

I was tired of beautiful designs, so I decided to create an effortless and crazy design. While the world is full of beautiful things, it’s not made up of only beautiful things. Some elites may prefer designs that follow the rules and are conventionally beautiful, but many people are crazy and like crazy things. Therefore, it makes sense for me to create a crazy design.

Their visuals, especially Domi’s, are crazy, and their music videos are also crazy. I love their song “Pilot” and based the overall design theme on it. I came across an article in the American magazine Times that described them as “aliens who came to bring new music to Earth,” so I decided to draw a spaceship pilot. Additionally, I saw some works on Behance that used various patterns to depict hair and skin, and I was inspired by those works. The crazy hamster can be found on their website, and I illustrated it as a tribute to them. The design that emphasizes eyes and lips was influenced by the Japanese artist Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.
